A bit about me
My name is Holly and I spend time between London and Edinburgh - both places are home. I love the eclectic culture and historic landmarks of London, but I also love the beautiful architecture and magic of Edinburgh! It’s impossible to choose which city is home because both play such an important role in my life. Therefore, both cities are my home!
I have worn a number of different faces throughout my life so far, from philosophy student to Montessori early years educator, as well as social science researcher and charity worker, and more recently, team leader and project manager. But never did I think I would be calling myself a ‘writer’! But why not? As Descartes once said: “I think, therefore I am”, and so I say: I write, therefore I am a writer!
As an aspiring writer, I have created this blog for two reasons: firstly, to get into the habit of writing, and secondly, to capture my writing journey! I can’t promise that my writing will be any good, but I’ve got to start somewhere - so here we are!
My inner child
I’ve always wanted to write and I can remember in primary school being told by my Year 5 teacher that I would grow up to be a writer! This prospect sounded very exciting at the time, but slowly faded as I grew into an adult. It seemed like a distant childhood dream. However, in recent years I have spent a lot of time in nature which has awakened my sense of curiosity and imagination. This has caused me to feel an increasing desire to write and to explore my creative side. It feels like there is a flow of energy running through me, which I cannot resist being swept away by!
